2009 Peugeot 308 cc Petrol Manual Cabriolet by AL • 19th April 2018
First purchased in 2014 with 48,000 on the clock and full service history, however, window motor had to be replaced at 54,000 then timing chain, water pump and tensioner replaced at 58,000 miles, now 89,000 miles and it requires another timing chain. It is quite normal for this engine to consume oil at a rate of 1 litre every 1000 miles, which is unacceptable.
A lovely car let down with it's French Technology! I suggest, stay clear of this model and do not be tempted with it's good looks.

Mercedes CLS-Class Diesel Automatic/Other Coupe by AL • 19th April 2018
Having purchased this car July 2017 25500 miles and now 35,000 miles later, I can honestly say it is flawless and have enjoyed every mile.
It has the comfort and economy which averages around the 40 per gallon, on a long run you will get about 52 per gallon.
Find a local garage for servicing though as Mercedes are just to expensive, ie service B quote £649 local independant(A. McVeigh £160)
so makes a lot of sense to shop around.

SEAT Ibiza FR TDI (130)
100%
2008 Seat Ibiza Diesel Manual Hatchback by D • 16th April 2018
Owned my 2008 SEAT Ibiza FR TDI for 2 years now.
RELIABILITY:I have only replaced suspension parts which is basic wear and tear. The 1.9 TDI pd engine is renowned for being bulletproof.
PERFORMANCE: All I can say is wow, for a diesel this car can fairly shift. Admittedly, I had the car remapped to 168bhp and 305 lb/ft of torque and the performance is amazing. Second gear pull is vicious and really throws you into the back of the seat, sure there is a bit of lag but what diesel doesn't. In-gear acceleration is what makes this car so good, and It has beaten many more expensive 'performance' cars, even off the lights. Remember this car weighs only 1179kg compared to the fabia vrs, mk4 and mk5 golfs all of which weigh over 1300kg so expect to see them in your rear-view mirror only.
HANDLING: Sadly this is the car's only downside, front-wheel drive diesel is never going to be the best handling car but it just doesn't feel as planted as an audi a3. There is a bit of body roll in the corners (lowering might help this) and grip levels aren't the most confidence inspiring even with decent tyres. However, the biggest disappointment is the car's steering which is just far too light and provides barely any feedback, very numb and as a result the car is just very little fun around a twisty road. A mk2 focus will handle better.
RUNNING COSTS: Cheap to run. Tax is £150 a year. Around town I get 35MPG with a heavy right foot, motorway MPG should be in the 50's. I run the car exclusively on BP Ultimate Diesel as the car runs FAR SMOOTHER AND FASTER on this fuel when compared to regular diesel. Tyres are around £100 a corner for premium brands on 17" wheels. Servicing is every 10k miles and is cheap.
Summary: Excellent car with accessible performance in very gear. Unlike performance petrol cars, you can rake this car everywhere and the fuel needle will barely move. This would be an ideal car for someone who wants a quick car but is a bit of a miser when it comes to paying for fuel. Reliability is bulletproof even if the engine is a bit agricultural. BUY ONE!

2007 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel Automatic Saloon by JVR • 6th April 2018
Bought a 2007 Jetta Automatic that already had 111,000 miles on the clock, drove it to 136,000 miles, only sold it because I wanted to change up a few years. Gave me no trouble at all. Friend of mine drove one to 180,000 miles, and never a problem with it!

2011 Renault Laguna Diesel Manual Estate by darius • 10th February 2018
Currently I own 8th Renault in my life. I had theses models: 25, Safrane, Clio, Megane, Laguna. Those were all very good cars. When some say that Renaults have problems with electronics I literally have no idea what they are talking about. I can tell you that Renault makes very reliable and beautiful cars. Car I own at the moment is a Renault Laguna Estate Initiale Paris. And its a beautiful one. Reliable, cheap to service and most importantly a Big pleasure to drive...

2013 Vauxhall Zafira Petrol Manual MPV by Simmy • 27th December 2017
Bought one of these cars brand new. Worst mistake off my life. Absolutely no power and found it difficult to pass a tractor. Only place this car liked was pulling into a petrol station which was every other day. Rubbish mpg. Had problems after 6 mths and found vauxhall warranty a real hassle as they tryed to wash there hands of every problem. Was recalled twice due to same other cars bursting into flames. Engine management light was on more than off which resulted in a loss of power and other electrical problems. Final straw was when power steering packed in. Honestly have to say the best thing about this car was the day I locked the doors for the last time outside the garage that I traded it in when I lifted the best car I've ever had which was a Nissan qashqai +2.

I bought this car 5 years ago for a summer/track car but when I got it I was worried because the unreliability of the rotary engine ended up keeping the car because I got attached to it and got it remapped and tweaked the engine then the engine gave me problems so I got reliability parts for the engine and it has helped a lot really quick car and I'm buying another one for track racing and keep mine for an every day car.

Have driven one of these for a couple of years and have to say its been great value for money.
I wanted a Jeep style motor with 7 seats that didnt cost the earth..
This has been an ideal family car that looks a lot more than it costs.
No probs recommending it as an inexpensive family car.

2015 Hyundai i10 Petrol Manual Hatchback by Philip Wilson • 18th November 2017
An excellent car in terms of driving, reliability and costs. The five year warranty, breakdown cover and annual checks are excellent. The present car should not be confused with the old i10 which was an altogether different car. The i10 is comfortable with absorbent suspension and well equipped especially in the Premium version. Insurance costs are low as is "road tax". The car is economical with a smooth lively engine. A first class small car!

2010 Mitsubishi Colt Petrol Manual Hatchback by Marky • 31st October 2017
Fantastic underated car for the money, having owned a 1.3 CZ2 with its chain driven engine, reliability was excellent, the rear wheel bearings being the only weak point in the Colt range. Moving onto the 1.5 Turbo petrol Ralliart version and it is an absolute hoot to drive, the noise of the turbo spooling up makes the commute to work a far more enjoyable experience than in any other car. Surprises more than enough German saloons at the lights, largely due to it barely weighing over a ton (0-60 in 7.4 seconds). Reliability, again is on par, timing belt requires changing at around 50k miles. Economy averages around 30-40mpg pending how you drive. Not as refined as the new fiesta ST or polo GTi, few rattles from the interior etc. Seats lovely and supportive, everything works as it should, no frills, a hark back to the old 106 GTi days. Very few left on the roads becoming quite the collectors car.

2009 Toyota Yaris Diesel Manual Hatchback by Andy • 19th July 2017
Bought the car back in 2010 with 11k miles on the clock, now has 141k, still feels tight as a drum and still going strong on the original clutch which considering it has been used to teach people to drive is testimony to the build quality. In all that time the only things I've replaced has been the tyres and the wheel bearings. Extremely easy to drive although not the most comfortable car if pushed hard, but for a day to day drive in town it's unbeatable. I'll definitely be buying another one in the future.
