2006 Volkswagen Golf Petrol Manual Hatchback by ricko • 19th April 2012
Very good car, very quick, reliable and can transport the children. Done 60000 miles with no issues. Can be expensive to run high road tax and insurance but its a GTI so have to expect that. Looks are good on 18" wheels, leather interior and sunroof

2008 Citroen C4 Diesel Manual Coupe by Azzymo • 18th April 2012
I bought my C4 from a family owned Belfast dealer about 14 months ago, trading in my trusty mk4 derv Astra for something that looked and felt fresher.

First off it was the looks that sparked my interest. The floating steering wheel, dash mounted digital speedo, angled rear window and daring styling (at least when it was released) and special edition interior made this stand out.

Mine is the 1.6hdi 110hp engine, recommended to me over the petrol variants due to reliability but I'll come to that. Driving wise, it's quick enough for most overtakes with good torque low down. The balance between power and economy is spot on, it's a warm hatch that'll give 600+ miles to a tank if driven right. I've managed 670 being careful before repeatedly being told by the computer that fuel was too low! Handling's not great, suspension is rather high.

Unfortunately the car was off the road for 3+ months after timing belt failure and subsequent damage, all before 55k. Recommended change at 130k! Do it before that I warn you. Cost me £1300 before mine was running again but she came back looking more beautiful than ever so I can forgive. I did by the way have a full service history prior to this. Oil changing is paramount so I've been told.

A good daily driver, that has the looks and practicality required, excellent economy but beware, no car is flawless!

I have owned my diesel Zafira for five years and it has served me very well. It is very roomy with a huge boot. The two extra seats in the boot have come in handy on numerous occasions and are easily put up and down. Our family has had great use of this car.

2010 Honda CR-V Diesel Manual Estate by SeisMick • 27th March 2012
I am currently driving my 4th CRV having driven them since the first one was launched in 1998. I simply cannot fault these cars, I live up quite a steep hill nad never once (even during last years appaling weather) have myself or my wife failed to get right up to our doorstep with the four wheel drive system.

Fairly easy to run and a pleasure to drive. Plus of course super reliable.

Bouhgt this car in July of Last year from Mark Mckernan in newry - Great guy and with brilliant cars.

This car is a superb driver - real smooth. A few bells and whistles as well.No issues with the car so far - We have done about 8000 miles. The only thing I added was a bluetooth system for our phones that also allows us to play music.

I look forward to many years of comfortable driving with this car.

Excellect car, had it for 1 year and sadly had to change. Mainly used it for up and down the motorway and £20 would usually get me about 220 miles. Never really had much bother and parts were easy to source.

2011 Peugeot 5008 Diesel Manual MPV by LisaK • 9th March 2012
My husband and i purchased our 5008 from ROADSIDE MOTORS in LISBURN last year. We couldnt be any happier with it, it gets us around 50mpg on average and we taxed it last week for only £115! Compared to our last 7 seater the savings are incredible, and its like driving a car rather that a big bus. My kids love it and so do we. Very nice to drive and no problems with it so far. Roadside Motors in Lisburn were very good to deal with and i definitely recommend them.

EXCELLENT FORD

2011 Ford Fiesta Diesel Manual 5 speed Hatchback by jk • 8th March 2012
Just recently purchased a 1 year old Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCI from Lindsay Ford - Ballymena, for my wife. I rate the salesperson I dealt with very highly, with the few minor issues agreed on at purchase all being dealt with to my complete satisfaction. My wife is really very pleased with the way the car drives, all round visibility, well laid out controls, and excellent economy 58 mpg+ on longer journeys and 52mpg+ for town driving. Even better still, only £20 road tax per year, due to the low co2 emissions, and group 7/8 for insurance, which is really good. My wife was initially slightly distracted by the front heated windscreen lines but now, she does not notice them at all, and she has indeed appreciated the benefit already. I would advise all Fiesta drivers to get mud flaps fitted, as I did after purchase, and I have also purchased a spare wheel and associated items - I am an old traditionalist - and just do not like the idea of the tyre repair kit that the car came with. I know a lot of manufacturers follow the same rationale ie fuel saving etc, but I feel Ford have really hit the mark now with the majority of their new models. I believe this is evidenced by the upsurge in the number of new Ford cars on the road. I feel Ford should give us traditionalists peace of mind by putting a spare wheel, even spacesaver, and all the associated items - jack, wheelbrace etc in the boot. Overall, extremely well pleased both with the Lindsay Ballymena dealership, and the vehicle. I have only reduced the "love rating" mark, as I drive BMW and, this is superior in all respects. However, you certainly pay for this privilege. On the few occasions I have driven my wife's car, the more I like it. I may even consider changing my allegience in a year or so, when I change my car. High spec Kuga/ Focus (both diesel new models) look favourite.

C5 Wedge

2001 Citroen C5 Diesel Automatic Hatchback by colin m • 1st March 2012
I have owned this car for the last 8 years and 80k miles. At the start it was a disaster, then I found a great auto spark who was able to fix the problem with the wiring loom (it had welded itself to the floor below the drivers seat!!!) Since then its been a pleasure. Great driving car, most comfortable car I've ever been in and driven. Its just like your favourite armchair on wheels. Its not going to win the 0-60 sprint but then I don't want to enter that race. I;m built for comfort, as is my car. Tax is a bit high but then again that's what an older engine does for you. Between 40 and 45 mpg for an older auto isn't too bad, newer car owns may snigger about that but both the car and me are almost classics. All in all I'm glad I met my wedge and we will hopefully have a few more miles yet together.
